1. Introduction

ShellPod ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. ShellPod is operated by sobrienti.

2. Data We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up, we collect your email address through our authentication provider, Clerk. This is used for account management, billing communications, and support.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive financial information on our servers. Stripe retains payment data in accordance with their own privacy policy.

Container Data

Your code, files, and configurations are stored within your dedicated container on Hetzner cloud infrastructure located in Europe. This data is isolated to your container and is not accessible by other users.

Usage Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to collect anonymous usage statistics such as page views and referral sources. Umami does not collect personal data, does not use cookies for tracking, and does not track individual users across sessions. All analytics data is aggregated and anonymous.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not access:

  • We do not access, read, or log any code or files inside your container
  • We do not see or store your Anthropic API keys or session tokens
  • We do not monitor your Claude Code sessions or conversations
  • We do not sell, share, or trade your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service delivery: provisioning and managing your cloud environment
  • Billing: processing payments and managing subscriptions
  • Support: responding to your questions and resolving issues
  • Product improvement: understanding usage patterns through anonymous analytics to improve the service
  • Communications: sending transactional emails related to your account (billing confirmations, service notifications)

6. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: your data is stored for as long as your account is active
  • Canceled accounts: container data is retained for 30 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted
  • Waitlist signups: we store your email address only, and will delete it upon request

7. Cookies

ShellPod uses a minimal number of cookies:

  • Clerk session cookie: required for authentication. This is a functional cookie necessary for the service to work
  • Umami analytics: Umami is cookieless by default and does not store any personal data in your browser

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels from ad networks, or any third-party cookies for marketing purposes.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure: request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection: object to certain types of data processing

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS) for all web traffic, isolated containers for each user, and secure authentication through Clerk. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

ShellPod is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days in advance by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
