Billing and Subscription

Everything you need to know about ShellPod pricing, billing, trials, and subscription management.

Pricing

ShellPod offers two plans:

  • Monthly: $19/month
  • Annual: $190/year (save ~17%)

Both plans include the same features: a dedicated container with 4 vCPUs, 8 GB RAM, persistent SSD storage, web terminal access, and all dashboard features (snapshots, CLAUDE.md editor, etc.).

Free trial

Both plans come with a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends. If you cancel before the trial expires, you will not be charged anything.

During the trial, you have full access to all features. There are no limitations or reduced functionality — it is the complete ShellPod experience.

What is included (and what is not)

Included in your ShellPod subscription:

  • Dedicated Linux container (4 vCPUs, 8 GB RAM)
  • Persistent SSD storage
  • Web-based terminal access
  • Pre-installed Claude Code and development tools
  • MCP server support (Context7 pre-configured)
  • Dashboard features (snapshots, reset, CLAUDE.md editor)
  • Access from any device

Not included (bring your own):

  • Anthropic API access: You need your own Anthropic Pro/Max subscription or API key. ShellPod provides the infrastructure; you bring the AI. This keeps costs transparent — you pay Anthropic directly for what you use.

Payment methods

ShellPod uses Stripe for payment processing. We accept:

  • All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.)
  • Google Pay
  • Apple Pay (on supported devices)

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Stripe billing portal (accessible from the ShellPod dashboard). When you cancel:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • You can continue using ShellPod until the period ends
  • After the period ends, your session will be stopped
  • There is a 30-day grace period during which your data is preserved. If you resubscribe within 30 days, your container and all your files will be restored.
  • After 30 days, your container and data are permanently deleted.

Failed payments

If a payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.):

  • Stripe will retry the payment automatically over the next few days
  • You will receive email notifications about the failed payment
  • There is a 3-day grace period during which your session continues to run
  • If payment is not resolved within the grace period, your session will be stopped (but not deleted)
  • Update your payment method in the Stripe billing portal to resolve the issue

Refunds

If you are not satisfied with ShellPod within the first 7 days of a paid subscription (after the trial), contact us on the ShellPod Discord and we will issue a full refund. We want you to be happy with the product.

After 7 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you experienced a service outage or technical issue that prevented you from using ShellPod, we will work with you to make it right.

Switching plans

You can switch between monthly and annual plans at any time. If you switch from monthly to annual, the remaining balance on your monthly plan is prorated and applied to your annual subscription. If you switch from annual to monthly, the change takes effect at the end of your current annual period.

Invoices and receipts

Stripe automatically sends email receipts for every payment. You can also access your complete billing history, download invoices, and manage your payment method through the Stripe billing portal linked from your ShellPod dashboard.
